Former Secretary to the Delta State Government, Comrade (Chief) Ovuozourie Samuel Macaulay, the Okiroro of Isoko Nation, has reinforced efforts to improve security in Isoko Nation with the donation of a Toyota Sienna vehicle to the Command Anti-Cultism Unit (CACU) Sector 2, recently deployed to Owhelogbo under the Ozoro Area Command in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Speaking while presenting the vehicle to the police tactical team at his Owhelogbo country home, Macaulay described the deployment of the anti-cultism unit as a significant milestone in addressing the persistent menace of cult-related violence and other criminal activities in Owhelogbo and neighbouring communities.
He applauded the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi John Oyeniyi, and the Area Commander of the Ozoro Area Command, ACP Zakari Mohammed Ya’u, for approving the establishment of the unit, saying it fulfilled a long-standing aspiration of the community.
Macaulay charged the officers to remain committed to the fight against cultism, violent crimes and emerging security threats, including terrorism, assuring them of the full support of the community. He reiterated his resolve to continue assisting the unit to enhance its operational efficiency and warned youths against engaging in criminal activities, emphasizing that he would not shield anyone found on the wrong side of the law. According to him, enduring peace and sustainable development can only flourish in an environment where criminality is decisively tackled.
In his response, the Officer Commanding CACU Sector 2, CSP Adamu Muhammad Mustapha, expressed appreciation to Macaulay and the people of Owhelogbo for the vehicle donation and other forms of support. He assured residents that the tactical unit would remain focused on restoring peace and eliminating criminal elements in the area.
The President-General of Owhelogbo, Barr. Morrison Iluesure, also reaffirmed the community’s commitment to partnering with the police, noting that accommodation had already been secured for the officers while urging residents to continue supporting the security initiative to guarantee lasting peace.
