ìAn Information and Communication Technology (ICT) expert, Mr. Godspower Okiemute Edewor, has paid a thank-you visit to former Secretary to the Delta State Government, Comrade (Chief) Ovuozourie Samuel Macaulay, the Okiroro of Isoko Nation, at his country home in Owhelogbo, Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, in appreciation of the warm reception and fatherly support he has received since joining the elder statesman’s political family.
Speaking during the visit, Mr. Edewor, an indigene of Owhelogbo, said he came bearing gifts as a token of gratitude to Comrade Macaulay for embracing him wholeheartedly and for the guidance, encouragement and mentorship he has continued to receive from him. He described the former Delta SSG as a dependable leader whose wealth of experience and commitment to developing younger leaders remain invaluable.
Responding, Comrade Macaulay expressed delight over the visit and thanked Mr. Edewor for the thoughtful gesture. He prayed for God’s continued guidance, protection and abundant blessings upon the ICT expert, urging him to remain committed to hard work, integrity and selfless service to humanity.
The former Secretary to the Delta State Government advised Edewor to remain humble in all his dealings, stressing that humility is one of the greatest virtues of leadership. He noted that leadership is temporary, adding that no individual occupies a position forever, hence the need for younger people to prepare themselves to take up responsibilities when the opportunity arises.
Macaulay disclosed that he is deliberately grooming and mentoring Mr. Edewor alongside other young members of his political family to ensure there is a capable generation of leaders ready to sustain quality leadership in the future. He encouraged the ICT expert to remain focused, loyal and committed to the ideals of service, assuring him of his continued support and fatherly guidance.
