
Former Secretary to the Delta State Government (SSG) and Okiroro of Isoko Nation, Comrade (Chief) Ovuozourie Samuel Macaulay, the Okiroro of Isoko Nation, joined the State Governor Rt. Hon. Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, represented by the Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Onyeme, at the historic presentation of the Staff of Office to the Ovie of Oyede Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Engr. Goodnews Goodman Agbi, JP, Athuaro I.

The colourful ceremony attracted prominent government officials, traditional rulers, political leaders and sons and daughters of Oyede Kingdom, marking the formal recognition of the kingdom’s first monarch.
Also in attendance were the Senior Policy Adviser to the Governor, Chief Funkekeme Solomon; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Prince Johnson Erijo; Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Council, Hon. (Elder) Godwin Ogorugba; Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Council, Hon. (Comrade) Warri Friday Ovoke; Delta State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, Chief Pius Malaka, High Chief Iduh Amadhe, Patron Isoko Development Union, traditional rulers, community leaders and other dignitaries who witnessed the presentation of the Staff of Office by the Deputy Governor on behalf of Governor Oborevwori.
Comrade Macaulay, a respected political leader and elder statesman in Delta State, was accompanied to the ceremony by members of his political family, including Chief Joshua Ovie Oghoole, Hon. Moses Idiowa, Mr. Benson Ofuafo, Mr. Julius Ekwajomi and Hon. Thomas Aruno. Their presence underscored the significance attached to the emergence of the first Ovie of Oyede Kingdom and the unity among political and traditional leaders in celebrating the historic milestone.
The event marked the official commencement of a new era of constitutional monarchy in Oyede Kingdom following the state’s recognition of the traditional institution. Guests congratulated His Royal Majesty, Engr. Goodnews Goodman Agbi, JP, Athuaro I, and expressed optimism that his reign would foster peace, unity, cultural preservation and accelerated development across the kingdom.
